Description:

Unveil the Wonders of Beetles & Bugs! (NEW DATE due to TC Alfred)

Discovering the world of beetles and bugs opens up a universe of wonder and curiosity! These tiny creatures play big roles in nature, from helping plants grow to recycling nutrients in the soil. By exploring their fascinating lives, kids can learn the science behind their unique behaviours and dazzling colours while nurturing a sense of awe and respect for the environment.

Through curiosity and play, young minds can unlock the secrets of these tiny engineers, gaining valuable skills in observation, problem-solving, and scientific thinking. Join us this March and let your child’s imagination take flight as they investigate the incredible world of beetles and bugs!

We’ll spend the morning immersed in nature with an easy group trail bush walk, themed story time, and a shaded picnic break (BYO lunch) at The Hut Environmental Centre. Parents and friends can then catch up over a complimentary tea or coffee in The Hut Environmental Centre while the kids engage in a fun nature-based learning activity indoors to wrap up the event.
On THECA Forest Family Sundays we encourage you and your family and friends to become Nature Enthusiasts and follow your curiosity to bring out your inner scientist as you question and wonder about the world around you. Play and investigate your way through Mount Coot-tha Forest, using many of the same skills that scientists, use everyday.
You must register on Eventbrite (search THECA)

Activities are conducted at The Hut Environmental Centre, 47 Fleming Road, Chapel Hill. They are led by experienced leaders (Blue Card holders), and include both indoor and outdoor hands-on activities. (In case of bad weather, activities will take place under cover.)
