The association, based at The Hut Environmental Centre, works in practical ways to conserve and improve the environment and to inform, educate and involve the local community in environmental issues and activities.

THECA's logo features the Mountain Brushtail, or Bobuck, Possum Trichosurus caninus.
The local Cubberla Creek  has taken the Aboriginal name for this possum, which is seen in the area.
